Beige tiles - the latest designs

Find out everything you need to know about beige tiles and the latest designs in our blog. From the earthy tones of putty to the comforting notes of taupe, as well as sands and stones, we are looking for colours for our homes that are nurturing and homely. Fortunately, we have a whole host of tried and trusted porcelain tiles along with the latest designs that fit the bill to help you create spaces that tap right into that cosy feeling.

Porcelain tiles play an essential role in how these spaces are created. As well as performing a functional role, porcelain tiles can be used to bring bathrooms to life, elevating walls and floors and giving us that spa like feeling in what is very often the smallest room of the home. So let’s dive in and find out how our collections can transform your space because nothing speaks luxury quite like Italian bathroom tiles.

Why choose beige tiles?

Our collections have always housed beige tiles because as a colour it just works. The past couple of years have seen collections that cover a spectrum of warmer tones from creams and ecrus through to darker putty tones and biscuit vibes. There has also been a lovely blending of grey and beige to create greige for those who want something that sits in both courts.

One big advantage of these toasty shades is they are so versatile. They co-ordinate easily with pretty much any type of furniture. They team up well with natural materials like jutes and hessians as well as woods, whites, pinks, blues, greens – well pretty much most shades. For bathrooms, beige tiles are perfect for creating that spa at home feel. For living areas, they are the perfect canvas for relaxed, modern living or that country cottage feel. For kitchens, beige tiles will open up space and are a brilliant canvas for a whole host of cabinetry colours and worksurface options. For outside spaces, their light natural colour forms a contemporary backdrop and reflects sunlight keeping areas cooler in hot, sunny spells.

Beige tiles for the kitchen

There are a stack of great reasons to pick porcelain tiles for your kitchen. Not only are porcelain tiles very hardwearing, they are easy to clean, highly scratch and stain resistant and in a heap of different finishes. Buff and beige hues make an amazing canvas for kitchen floor areas. Not only are many of these shades very practical for busy kitchens, with shades ranging from cream and ecru through to deeper biscuit hues they bring brilliant flexibility from a design perspective too.

The tiles you choose for your kitchen, or any space in the home, are a canvas. The floor is one of the largest surface areas and will impact your overall design significantly, contributing a large part to the overall ambience of your room. These are colours that work with so many kitchen cabinetry colours and worksurface materials from classic woods to whites, greens, blues, charcoals and more. You name it, you will find a shade of beige that will work with your colour scheme and a host of colours that will work with your shade of beige.

For a contemporary, architectural feel you really can’t beat a sophisticated porcelain tile in sand like tones with a fine matt surface finish – a good example of this is our Tone collection. This is simple Italian styling at its best and the spectrum of shades available make this a brilliant collection.

Beige tiles in the bathroom

Beige tiles are a go to choice for bathrooms particularly if you want to bring that spa like feel to spaces. Bathrooms are proving themselves far more than just a functional space, we want these room to exude tranquility. We are using warmer tones and texture to create warm and welcoming bathrooms where we can relax and unwind. Beige is a colour that marries up with a whole host of bathroom fixtures and fittings and encourages us to add greenery in the form of plants as well as other tactile materials.

Beige tiles in open plan spaces

Open plan spaces are serving several rooms at once, perhaps kitchen, lounge, dining area and even office. Your pick of flooring therefore plays a crucial role in this space and will need to work in several “rooms”. Beige is about as practical a colour as you can get. It is warm. Darker shades are great at hiding dirt. It works with so many other colours. It brings a bright and airy feel whilst also offering a snug feeling.

The netural tone of beige tiles helps to create a cohesive look particularly if you opt for cement or concrete effect tiles with a more uniform design and these tiles work well in open plan spaces especially when grout is blended to the tile colour because it helps create a seamless appearance across a large expanse of floor.

Beige tiles in the lounge

The lounge. It’s a hub for relaxation, family time and socialising. Whether it is part of an open plan area or a lovely little snug, it’s a space that should be homely, comfortable and where we can unwind. A well-designed lounge fosters an inviting atmosphere and the flooring we choose for this space plays a huge role in the overall ambience.

Porcelain tiles are a highly practical flooring material with a stack of great reasons to pick them for your lounge area – one of which is that they work so well with underfloor heating. Matt finishes are a great shout for lounge areas. They gently diffuse light making spaces feel cosier and more inviting, they are easy to clean and work with so many furniture tones and hues.

Beige tiles outside

You may want to continue your internal flooring out onto the patio. This is a brilliant way to connect lounge to lawn and beige tiles also work well in external areas. It is important though to ensure you pick the right type of tile and tile finish.

Tiles must be porcelain. Generally 2cm porcelain pavers are good for external areas (with the exception of areas with heavy traffic eg cars). Outdoor tiles should also be in the correct slip resistance with a minimum R11 A+B+C rating. So a 2cm antislip tile in beige is a great choice for outdoor areas. These tiles will create a warm and natural looking environment blending well with shrubbery and at the same time will help reflect some light keeping spaces airy.

To sum up

Beige tiles tick all the boxes. Warm tones, super practical, work with pretty much any colour scheme. From taupe tones to sands, biscuit to caramels, this colour is nurturing and ideal for creating spaces that are airy and light yet cosy.
